The One Offering That Changed Everything

We live in a world of endless doing. Even in faith circles, there can be a pressure to “perform”—to sacrifice more, pray harder, try again. But the gospel invites us into something far more powerful: rest in a finished work.
Hebrews 10 paints the contrast clearly:
“Every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins.”
This describes the old Levitical system—where offerings had to be made over and over again. They were never enough to cleanse the heart or remove sin.
But then:
“But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God.”
This Man—Jesus. Not just any man, but the Divine Man. He didn’t bring a sacrifice; He was the sacrifice. And after offering Himself once for all, He sat down.
To be seated means authority, yes—but it also means rest. It means there’s nothing more to be done.
“For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.”
That’s you. That’s me. Perfected forever—not by performance, but by grace.
You’re still growing. You’re still being sanctified. But your standing before God is settled. This is the foundation of true spiritual growth—not fear or striving, but confidence in Christ.
So draw near.
Spend time in the secret place with God. Let His voice silence the noise and remind you: It is finished.
