WELLSPRING OF LIFE.

A daily devotional moment by Chris Garcia

John 4:13–14 (NKJV): Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again,  but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”

John 15:7–8 (NKJV): If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.  By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.

John 15:9–11 (NKJV): “As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.  If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.  “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.

The profound and powerful feelings I encountered during this last worship time, were unexpected. I did not expect to sense the tangibility of His presence at the level at which I did. I wasn’t looking for anything other than Him and the Glory of the Lord was so strong. As I was sitting there worshiping I saw a mountain and above that mountain was a loud. The cloud of His presence. Such an awareness of the glory of God. If you learn to worship Him, and if you learn to ascent His presence, you get a different vantage point. Just as you ascend a mountain and a hill. What you will begin to notice is that you have a different perspective. In a moment I am going to bring a particular scripture based on this experience. But I need to clarify how It is just amazing how the Holy Spirit leads everything. It is amazing how God ministers and speaks something to us and you do not even realize, but as you are yielded to Him, there is a perfect message that He wants to speak to us about. As I was worshiping, the Lord was leading me to a specific passage as we were just sitting there before the Lord. Many wanted to hear the voice of the Spirit. I want to give you a little mystery to be aware of. Well, it is not really a mystery to be honest with you but something that is quite practical. What you need to understand is that you are like a well. Jesus said in John 4:13-14, Jesus used these words. He said, “He that believes in me, will well up within him a wellspring of life.” because of Jesus Christ. Christ and the water that He provides. Consider this, what is a well? A well is something that you draw water out of. A well is this container, usually underground in which you draw water out of it. This is how the Spirit speaks many times. The more that you put washing of the water of the Word of God in your being, the more the Spirit will draw that out of you and speak to you. Do you want God to speak to you? Then you need to be filled with the washing of the water of the Word. Jesus said in John 15:7-8, “If you abide in Me, and My Words abide in you, you can ask what you will and it will be done.” But then elsewhere in John 15:10, it says, “You are already clean because of the Word that I have spoken to you.”

Washing of the water of the Word. The Word is like water. Your spirit is like a well. The more of the water of the Word of God you get inside of your well, the more the Holy Spirit will draw it out of you and speak to you concerning that which is needed to be spoken to in your life. And so the reason why I am able to navigate through the scripture is because I put these scriptures in me. And the Spirit then pulls them out. Talk about this. Talk about that. Focus on this scripture. See what I am saying? So I want to encourage you. If you want to hear the voice of the Spirit, you must be filled with the Word of God and when you are filled with God's Word, you might not be able to memorize it, but that's not the point. As you meditate and muse upon God's Word and relish it and delight in God's Word, what will begin to happen is that it becomes alive in you. It goes from your brain, from your thoughts to your heart, and then to your spirit. And then you become nourished. I find it interesting that in the mountain of the Lord where God called the 70 elders to come up to the mountain along with Moses, the Bible says that they saw the God of Israel. And the scripture says that they ate and drank. Now why would there be some sort of connection between seeing the God of Israel and eating and drinking? Because if you consume Christ's presence and you drink in the washing of watering of the Word, you will see Him. You will understand by revelation that you are being elevated into the very presence of God. In the presence of God, there is eating and drinking. But it is not a food that is earthly. The Scripture says, for in the Kingdom of God is neither eating food, or drinking but righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. So it shows us that eating and drinking are spiritual. Do you want to see the Lord in your life? Do you want to glimpse the Glory of God? Enter into the mountain of praise, consume the bread of His presence and the Water of the Word. For man does not live by bread alone but by every Word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. Be filled with the Word of God. He will supply us. He is nourishment. He brings us to a place of nourishment in our lives.
