A daily devotional moment by Chris Garcia
2 Peter 1:2–4 (NKJV): Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
Hebrews 10:19–22 (NKJV): Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
By clinging to the promises in 2 Peter 1:2-4, we are able to escape the corruption of this world. It is accomplished by clinging to these promises and by siphoning the oil from these verses. We are then escaping the corruption of this world and transformed into the newness of life. Don’t hold onto your past. Don’t hold onto your feelings. Stop holding onto your thoughts. Instead, hold onto the promises of God. You enter through the Blood and through faith. Every time I go into the presence of God, I am not worried about if I feel or do not feel anything. I am not moved by what I feel, I am moved by Whom it is I believe in. As I enter through the door of the Blood of Christ, I enter into His Presence because I see it. Because I believe it. The world says I got to see it to believe it. Jesus says, believe it in faith, and you shall see. You are waiting for a feeling when you should be entering by Faith, then you shall feel and then you will see. Faith is the doorway to what you are seeking. The immature believer says I don’t feel therefore it’s not real, God has left me, and so on. These are distracting lies to keep you from His presence. The mature believer, says I am not moved by what I feel, I believe in faith and because I draw near, I begin to see Him. Because faith is the door and the way is the Blood.
