HOW TO LET GOD GIVE YOU A NEW PERSPECTIVE

Deepening your connection with the Lord depends on various factors, two crucial ones being the amount of quality time you spend in reverence of Him and your ability to maintain an eternal perspective. In many of my previous writings, I have emphasized the impact of spending time with the Lord and God's ability to work in your life's journey. Your perspective is what enables you to be present in this world while remaining spiritually connected to eternity. Let's reflect on Romans 8:18 (NKJV):

“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”

Living, moving, and having our being solely in the present confines us to a worldly mindset. Jesus willingly went to the cross, not out of compulsion but understanding that the suffering endured is momentary compared to the eternal calling from the Father.

It's crucial to always bear in mind that the things of this world are passing us by, while the Lord, seated on His throne daily in eternity, surpasses them all. We must daily join Him in spirit while navigating the present. This consistent connection will, in turn, cultivate an eternal perspective within you.

To become more eternally minded, consider incorporating these practices into your daily life:

  1. Regular Prayer and Meditation: Spend dedicated time each day in prayer and meditation, seeking a deeper connection with God. This helps align your thoughts with eternal values.

  2. Study Scripture: Delve into the Bible regularly, focusing on passages that emphasize the eternal nature of God's kingdom and His promises.

  3. Worship and Praise: Engage in worship and praise, both personally and in community settings. This helps shift your focus from temporal concerns to the eternal glory of God.

  4. Community with Like-minded Believers: Surround yourself with fellow believers who share an eternal perspective. Participate in community activities that foster spiritual growth.

  5. Serve Others: Actively engage in acts of service and kindness. By investing in others and building God's kingdom, you align your actions with eternal purposes.

  6. Practice Gratitude: Cultivate a heart of gratitude for God's eternal love and blessings. Regularly reflect on the eternal significance of His grace in your life.

  7. Regularly Reflect on Eternity: Take moments throughout your day to consciously reflect on the eternal aspects of life. Consider how your actions and decisions align with God's eternal plan.

  8. Embrace God's Will: Surrender your plans to God and seek His will in all aspects of your life. Trusting in His eternal wisdom brings peace and assurance.

  9. Live a Life of Love: Prioritize love in your interactions with others. Love is eternal, and by living a life characterized by love, you reflect God's nature.

  10. Maintain an Eternal Perspective in Challenges: When facing difficulties, try to see them in light of eternity. Remember that God's plans extend beyond your current circumstances.

By intentionally integrating these practices into your daily routine, you can cultivate an eternally minded perspective that shapes your thoughts, actions, and priorities.
