YOU'RE ANOINTED.

Updated: May 16, 2023

A daily devotional moment by Chris Garcia

Jeremiah 31:33 (NKJV): But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

John 14:23–24 (NKJV): Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.  He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me.

Acts 1:7–8 (NKJV): And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority.  But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

The Holy Spirit wants fellowship, communion, and the sharing of space and life. The exchange of hearts. When someone is communing with another, what they are doing is, they are sharing the expressions, the thoughts, and the feelings of the heart. Communion is the divine exchange of life. Communion is when I share my heart and you share your heart. It is when two heats become knitted into oneness. That is what the Holy Spirit does. That is the call of the Holy Spirit in your life. That is why I always say, He does not want a visitation. He wants a habitation. That is what He desires. The fellowship. The communion. The exchange. The intimate space of the Spirit. The Holy Spirit longs to be your friend. So what is it that we need to understand about the Holy Spirit? Number one is that He desires to be your Friend. Two, do you want to unleash the power of the Holy Spirit? Understand this, that the Holy Spirit wants to teach you. He is not only your Friend but He is your Teacher. John 14:26 says, “But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My Name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.” The wonderful Holy Spirit wants to be your Teacher. Elsewhere, the scriptures point out that you have received an anointing from the Holy One and that same anointing teaches you all things. Did you know that you are anointed? Did you know that there is an anointing to come upon you for ministry? But that there is a greater anointing on the inside of you, that dwells within you. That never leaves you, never forsakes you, and that anointing teaches you. That anointing guides you. Why? Because the anointing is the sweet Holy Spirit that is invested with you. The Holy Spirit wants to be your Teacher.

The scriptures say in the Old Testament, that the days are coming, says the Lord where I will hold My people by the hand. I will write My laws upon their hearts and no longer will they say to one another "Know the Lord." For all of them will know Me from the very least to the very many. So not only is there a need to understand the unleashing of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Not only do we need to understand that the Holy Spirit is our Friend. Not only is He our Teacher. But most importantly the Holy Spirit is the source of our strength and power. The power and strength and might that you seek, do not come from your own efforts. It does not come from your own intellect. It does not come from your ability or your talent. The might and the power come from the Great Holy Spirit. I said this not too long ago. Concerning these things, when He spoke to Zrubavel, He said “Not by might, not by power but by My Spirit says the Lord.” The Spirit of the Lord is the power of the Lord. The Spirit of the Lord is the Presence of the Lord. The Spirit of the Lord is with you forever. He wants to be your Teacher. He wants to be your guide. But the Holy Spirit wants to also empower you. Empower you for what? Empower you to witness. Empower you to tell others about Jesus. But also, something that gets overlooked quite often, He empowers you to overcome your sinful nature. He is the Holy Spirit. He is not just a spirit. He is the Holy Spirit of the Almighty God. Some of you are struggling with your sin. You just can’t seem to let go. Dear friend, if you fall on your face and allow the Holy Spirit to break you, He will empower you to do that which could not be done in your own strivings or strength. Not by a long shot. But by a touch of His Grace, you can overcome all. The Spirit wants to empower you. Jesus told the disciples in Acts 1:8, “You will receive power.” He stated you WILL with assurance. “You will receive power.” Notice that the power of God comes when the Spirit of God comes upon you. You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. Precious brother and sister the Holy Spirit wants to wrap you with His power. He wants to come and rest on you, and empower you. Will you let Him or choose to continue to struggle? The choice is always yours.
